I called 3 weeks in advance but they were booked for the day. I was thinking 3 dozen. Thanks!
Right around 9.00 and it is cash only.
Yes Always busy, cash only!!
Yes they have coffee. Hot or cold coffee.
Yes
Great donuts You have to order cakes specially
Yes. But it is a cash only business. So bring cash when order is picked up. If you're looking for a donut cake order really early, months or year in advance. They fill the slots fast.
Cash only
I have to happily say NO.. Thanksgiving is for all to spend with family, not work.
Excellent food. Would put their donuts in my top 4 or 5 all time. Donut cake also quite good.
If you're looking into this place for donuts don't be alarmed by the recent wave of one star and fake bad reviews. They are attacking him for removing a police discount which truthfully should not effect the way you do your job as a policeman. This place has great donuts and has constantly had AMAZING service. The owner is just about one of the nicest people you could meet. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
Great donuts. Long lines. Ask for a menu while you wait so you can order with ease. You must wear a mask or they will not take your order.Payments via cash and Venmo ONLY.
My favorite local donut shop! I love coming here for donuts and usually come here to get a donut cake for my birthday. I’ve tried other places, but Allie’s makes the best donut cakes I’ve ever had! They also custom make the donut cakes so that you can get a fun shape for any age. Their donuts are delicious and walking inside you can see them making some. The staff there is also very kind and friendly.
If you come to Rhode Island, you have to stop for donuts at family-owned Allie's Donuts. (Established-1968). I travel around the US quite a bit, and I still say these are the best donuts I have ever had. Raised, chocolate frosted, coconut, coffee frosted, jelly, crawlers, chocolate....they are all too good, and fresh! Parking lot is a little wild west with no lined designated spots, so hold onto the wheel and bring cash too because they don't take plastic. There's usually a line out the doors most days, so get there early. Donut cakes are amazing too, but must be ordered in advance.
They had a military discount... The owner removed it because he said the discount - it's not worth the sacrifice military members have made for "people they don't even know"...Nothing else needs to be said.
The doughnuts are old tasting. Not fresh in my opinion. Won't go there again.
My favorite place for doughnuts! I wish there was one closer to the East Bay because I don't get to come up as often as I would like. Sprinkle doughnuts are the best, but all of the doughnuts bring something to the table
Wow, what a throwback! Old school, classic, traditional, whatever term you want to use to describe this amazing donut shop is appropriate. Inexpensive, authentic, delicious. The perfect crisp outside with a pillowy inside. Coffee is great, too. Staff handles the craziness very well. Just amazing all around. A local institution.
Allies loves Rhode Island and tastes like Rhode Island they are always worth the wait. We enjoyed the apple Blueberry maple old fashioned and a series of sprinkles. Go Allies!
Delicious and fresh doughnuts! Clean and Beautiful little gem. Always great service! Matt, the owner is a king ! And the community will stick by his side, despite law enforcement threatening the business for personal vendettas. They have been abusing their free doughnuts and discounts anyways. Time for free doughnuts to go to better charity! Don’t worry Matt we got your back !
If you’ve ever been to Rhode Island or know a Rhode Islander, you’ve heard about Allie’s. This place is the definition of an RI trademark. There’s a lot to say about a place that always has a line no matter the time or day. When you provide TOP quality food and service, people will wait and will pay. There’s no place like Allie’s, thank you for being a RI staple and true neighbor 🙌🏼
The donuts are awesome but they are painful to buy. Had to wait 10 minutes after ordering to get 2 donuts. They have lots of staff but they appear to be working at cross purposes. Too frustrating to go back soon.On the plus side, they seem to have their Covid-19 act together.
delicious and affordable. My favorites are the maple old fashioned and the chocolate coconut. My husband likes the strawberry frosted and the crullers. We had these donuts as our wedding cake. Everyone loved them.
Been craving donuts lately and this place is always at the top of my list. great spot to have a donut. They make great cakes as well for parties.
Being from Pennsylvania Dutch country, I take my donuts very seriously. The hegemony of Dunkin has contributed to a dearth of good donut shops in New England and I have been searching for many years for a truly quality donut. I can hands down say that these are the BEST donuts I have ever had in New England!! Fresh, soft, and crispy but not greasy!! Don’t listen to the haters!!!!
Awful customer service. Employee that served me was not wearing a mask, coughed into her hand before getting my order and gave me attitude when I refused the donuts. I highly recommend to avoid going here.
All of these military members and police officers commenting are incredible. The same people so criticize cancel culture in the left are making the sad attempt at doing so to a small business. The fact that you came into this man’s business instead of just kindly moving along speaks volumes. Before anyone gets sensitive I am a veteran and while I don’t appreciate his act it’s his way of showing solidarity with a movement he believes in. If you don’t like it move on. When did the warriors become such snowflakes.
Allie's is great. Best fresh donuts in the state. Go try it and support a faimly run local business.
Allie’s is the best donut in the United States. I’ve lived all over the country and even NYC can’t make a donut that’s as incredible as Allie’s.
Closed until May 22nd! Don’t make the same mistake I did and make a special trip. They aren’t open yet, but signs posted on their door says they are targeting 5/22
Love coming here. These donuts are so good. Get there early to avoid the long lines.
Allies has been an amazing shop my entire life. Always the best donuts in the North East. As of late, they have decided to exercise their rights and take a stand on social justice issues. I commend them for this. Dont buy a lot of the bad reviews that are recent. There is a growing internet campaign of petty locals attempting to trash Allies by giving them poor reviews online. This does not reflect the quality or I integrity of the business and is completely political. Enjoy Allies! They're the best!
Fantastic donuts. They've been a staple of the RI community for my entire life and I see their food bring a smile to faces young and old.Their staff is friendly and always willing to put up with the crowd of people who rush in each day.Be prepared to wait or call ahead, but it will be well worth it!Also a donut cake is a hit at any party!
I can't stand behind a company who will blindly disrespect the civil servants (military and police) of their community and of their nation. Don't surround yourself with their toxic environment, move on with your life and get your pastries from somewhere respectful of their community.Oh let's remember that they decided to disrespect the military on the anniversary of the DDay Invasion. The establishment is THAT classy.
Delicious donuts!! Workers are so nice inside and out. If I could bottle up a smell as a perfume, it would be this bakery. Keep of the AMAZING WORK!!!
Amazing Service! The food is absolutely amazing. I was visiting from Colorado and it was one of my favorite parts of the trip!
Donuts are way too sweet. They are also openly anti-military. Dunkins better.
Despite their recent miss judgement in insulting a major segment of their customers,, you can't overlook the fact that Allies has survived many obstacles Will they survive this blunder?I recall visiting Allies as a teenager the donuts are fair at best. On the greasey side so get extra napkins.
Best donuts I've ever had. I live in Seattle now and cant find a single donut that compares.
Wow, still the best donuts ever. Ambrosia. Only problem is you'll want to try them all. Totally addictive. It will be the standard by which you'll measure all other donuts--other donuts which will inevitably disappoint. Worth the trip & worth the price.UPDATE: I tried to keep my review focused on the donuts and service, and not the owners personal beliefs. But, I now feel they need defending. Personally, I believe if military and police get discounts, so should volunteers, teachers, medical staff, daycare workers, tutors, clergy, public servants, and anyone else who contributes to their community. If that were the case, Allie's wouldn't turn a profit, and we would be deprived of Delicious Donuts. If you don't support their position, don't bash their donuts or proclaim a roach infestation...just buy your donuts elsewhere and deprive yourself of pleasure. Perhaps, when you're beaten by police you may change your opinion, if you're alive to do so. Some are not so fortunate.
Just amazing! Love the donuts and service was great. This review is only based on food and service. That's all I can review when I go to a place. We all have different believes, views and likes. The wold is not perfect and we can't judge people or rate them unfairly.
Love their donuts! Brings back childhood memories of my father.
Not good at all and very overpriced. Donuts were stale and the staff was very rude. There are too many other good options for donuts in Rhode Island.
Terrible ownership, awful marketing skills, sub par donuts. Just negative all around experience. Definite 1 Star, do NOT recommend.
Different lines for different orders. Staff was excellent, professional, masks on..even outside, attentive to mine needs. Highly recommended
Great donuts. Great people. Great visit.
I have to be honest about my experience here and it wasn’t good. While on vacation months ago I was horrified to see multiple cockroaches. It’s Not something you want with your donuts.
Allie's donuts are one of a kind. The dough is so soft and filled with love and equality. God bless Allie's donuts. Worth the long line and drive from Providence.
Just had the most amazing experience at Allie's. The staff was prompt and kind. The donuts were Delicious!
As with so many things, the "experience" of visiting Allie's was ruined long ago by all the "When you visit RI..." hype. I have fond memories of stopping here in the 70's as a kid, when it was just a little donut shop and the stop was never more than a 10-15-minute affair. Decades of over-promotion have turned the little donut shop into Disneyland, where the jammed parking lot, one hour-plus wait, grumpy people and sold out selections are now a year-round standard. All that aside, the donuts are still great. Try visiting off-season on a weekday and get here early. Summer weekends are at your own risk.
After seeing how they treat members of our brave law enforcement, I will never spend my money here ever again.
Love you guys and love your donuts. People always buy them for me and they always make me so happy. I'm so sorry you've been attacked by radical right wing zealots. Dont let their hate get to you!
Best donuts in town. Support these wonderful owners!
Of course, we love their donuts. They also have a pretty impressive system to account for the pandemic. No one is allowed inside anymore. People line up around the long side of the building in 6 foot squares painted onto the parking lot for social distancing. An employee hands out menus. You place your order and give your name at the first window, then make your way to the front of the building. When your name is called, you pay with cash or venmo. Then someone brings out your donuts. It was a pretty nice system. And the donuts are still great.
The best donuts. Hot out of the oven. Oh my. There were 6 ha.
Not only are the donuts amazing, but the owner is so nice. Come here to get your donuts
Stay away, once you’ve had a donut cake from McDaffa’s Donut Cakes in Middletown you will never go back to Allies. You do not have to deal with Allies poor customer service and you can go online at McDaffa’s speeding up the ordering process.
Poor service Nerver will go there again! STAY AWAY... Much better options close by.
